Our friend Tanner and his wife Wendy are expecting a baby boy any day now. I’m am working on a blue and green quilt for them. I wanted something bright that could grow with him, so I went with bold colors with small, simple prints. I mixed complementary solids to keep the quilt from looking too visibly busy.
I wanted the spacing to be random, so I created squares out of two triangles and have been placing them where I feel that they look nice. It is nice being able to let go slightly and be spontaneous. (Or as spontaneous as you can be while quilting).
The top has been coming together nicely. I am about half way done now. I may even beat the baby’s arrival.
