work in progress: quilt for auction

One of my family’s friend and neighbor is currently battling cancer. To help support them, our church and our yacht club is going to do a joint breakfast and silent auction for their family. My mom contacted me to see if I would like to make something to be auctioned off. I wanted something that would be easy to ship, and decided on a lap/baby quilt.

I used some of the leftover fabric from my chevron baby quilt, and pulled in a couple of other colors to try to make it more of a rainbow. It is coming together nicely, and I can’t wait to see it completed. I only have one more row to finish the quilt top.

I am brainstorming ways to quilt it, and haven’t settled on anything yet. I am planning on doing a plain back with a light grey/green. I have a couple of ideas for the binding fabric, but I would like to see it quilted before picking out the binding.

If you are in the Gilford, NH area and would like to attend the breakfast, you can read about the details here. If you are not in the area and still would like to donate, a donation site has been set up here.
