felt coffee sleeve

I have sensory issues when it comes to paper. I love the smell and touch of most papers, but the feel of some paper absolutely drives me up a wall. I would rather do anything else but touch it, and even thinking about it right now is too much. Like I said, issues. Anyway, now that you know that little detail about me, let’s continue. I hate the feel of the paper sleeves that most coffee places use. I don’t really enjoy burning my hand every time I get coffee to go, so I decided to make myself a felt coffee sleeve. I used 100% wool felt, and doubled the thickness so it protects your hand completely. The felt warms up slightly, which makes the warm drink feel extra cozy. I used sashiko thread to do the design, but you can also use regular embroidery floss. I am hoping to post a step by step tutorial in the future, but in between the sun setting early and the rain that we’ve been having, I haven’t been able to take any good photos. Hopefully I’ll be able to get to it this weekend!
