When I am trying to decide what to make people for gifts, I like the items to be useful while still being cute. I noticed that my sister was hauling around her makeup in a large ziploc bag, which while useful was not very cute. I started looking for makeup bag patterns, and came across this cosmetics and toiletries case by Sew4Home. I knew that it would be the perfect bag to make her.
I used Amy Butler’s laminated fabric in the interior so if there were any spills it would be easy to clean up. The pattern came together cleanly, which is always a plus, but I did find that the corners were a little tricky. I liked it so much that I ended up making it for my best girlfriends for Christmas last year. It is also nice because unlike a more ridged bag, it can mold to fit a lot more and bulkier items.
I forgot to take a picture of the other side, but you can see in the original pattern that it has a large handle on one side which is perfect for hanging off of a hook. It makes it easy to keep your makeup off of your bathroom sink. I highly recommend this pattern for either yourself or as a gift for someone.
